MANTRAS & SHLOKAS

The word mantra (मंत्र) is derived from two Sanskrit words— manas (mind) and tra (tool). Mantra literally means ‘a tool for the mind’, and was designed to help practitioners experience a deeper level of spirituality.
Shlokas (श्लोक) is a poetic form used in Sanskrit to communicate key value-based messages and philosophical concepts.
Chanting mantras & shlokas without understanding the meaning significantly reduces their efficacy. Therefore, we focus on teaching the overall meaning (gist) of the mantra / shloka along with relevant everyday examples, helping learners internally relate to them
This also greatly helps during meditation:
- Establish a connect with the Almighty and feel His / Her presence
- Strengthen our resolve to always to do what is good and avoid all that is evil, i.e. follow the right path of ‘Dharma’
